"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me...." Matthew 5:11-12
If you assign numericals to the twenty-six English alphabets and equate each corresponding number to the word, "ATTITUDE", you will get one hundred (100). This suggests the importance of attitude in one's life. Jesus' message begins with the true meaning of being blessed which is referred to as, 'Blessed' means more than happiness. The scripture talks about: the poor in spirit, those who mourn, hunger and thirst after righteousness, the pure in heart, the peacemakers and those who are being persecuted for righteousness (v.3-10)
People with these attitudes are the fortunate and enviable people in God's kingdom. To Jesus, 'blessed' means the experience of hope and joy, independent of outward circumstances. To find hope and joy, the deepest form worldly kingdoms. In the kingdom of heaven, worldly wealth, power and authority are irrelevant. Kingdom people seek godly blessings with kingdom attitudes. Are your attitudes that of the world or a reflection of the humility and self-sacrifice of Jesus?
There are blessings in positive attitude and perseverance.
